The University of Minnesota’s Human Sexuality Leadership Council held a double match fundraiser for MyGender Dolls, which are sets of two-dimensional dolls with accompanying internal sex organs and external genitals.
Created by transgender and gender diverse artists, MyGender Dolls are intended to be used by a “gender competent therapist” who works with young children and adolescents for the purpose of “gender exploration.”
The dolls are meant to be used in conjunction with a therapist’s expertise to help children explore their gender identity. The University of Minnesota program claims that these dolls will provide an opportunity for kids to learn about different types of bodies, understand what it means to have internal sex organs or external genitals, and develop empathy.
Every dollar donated is said to be matched by two members of the Human Sexuality Leadership Council. It’s unclear if any families signed up for the research project. The University of Minnesota did not return Fox News Digitals request for comment on this matter
