As we celebrate Pride Month this June, it’s heartwarming to see organizations come together to promote inclusivity, diversity, and acceptance for all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. One such initiative that caught our attention is the first-ever Pride Run held at SM by the Bay in Mall of Asia Complex on June 22.
The event saw over 5,000 runners participate in a fun-filled morning of running while also raising awareness about LGBTQIA+ issues and promoting unity among all individuals. It’s amazing to see such a large turnout for an event that celebrates diversity and promotes acceptance.
As we know, Pride Month is celebrated annually in June to commemorate the Stonewall riots of 1969, which marked a turning point in the fight for gay rights. Since then, it has become an important occasion for LGBTQIA+ individuals around the world to come together and celebrate their identities with pride.
The SM by the Bay venue provided a perfect backdrop for this momentous event, offering stunning views of Manila Bay while also providing ample space for participants to run freely without any restrictions. The atmosphere was electric as runners from all walks of life came together, united in their quest for equality and acceptance.
It’s wonderful to see organizations like SM by the Bay taking proactive steps towards promoting inclusivity and diversity. By hosting events like this Pride Run, they are not only creating a platform for LGBTQIA+ individuals to express themselves but also fostering an environment that is welcoming and accepting of all people regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
As we move forward in our journey towards greater understanding and acceptance, it’s initiatives like these that will pave the way for a more inclusive society where everyone can live freely without fear of persecution. Kudos to SM by the Bay for hosting this groundbreaking event!
